ADA Requests Best Practices

ADA Requests Best Practices

Overview
Accessibility is another core value we share with our clients and MarchingOrder can help make sure your event is inclusive of all participants. Using your registration form in the Ceremonies module, you can ensure graduates and guests with different needs are fully engaged with your event and can enjoy all the pomp and circumstance of your school’s big day.

Collect accessibility requests

  1. Ask if the graduate or their guest require any special accommodations at your event.
  2. If they select “yes”, provide them with a list of available accommodations.
  3. If their accommodation requirement is not listed, provide them with the option to select “other” and then fill in their specific requirement.

Email Grads with ADA requests

Send targeted email reminders from the Communications section to grads who have indicated an ADA need so that they can be up to date on where to go at the event to receive the assistance they requested.

Share ADA Accommodation Requests with event staff

In the Ceremonies section, create a custom view that shows all Accommodation requests.
You can follow instructions on Creating a Custom View to see your ADA request submission. Contact your Customer Success Manager if you need help setting up this view.

Once created, you can export the view information as an excel spreadsheet as well. To do so:
  1. Open the dropdown menu with the eyeball, and at the very bottom of the dropdown select “export view”.
  2. This will export an excel spreadsheet of all the data shown in that view.

Map ADA responses to your GradPasses and Guest tickets

Including the responses as place holders on your Gradpasses and Guest tickets will allow your event staff to immediately recognize upon arrival grads and guests who require additional assistance. Follow the Insert Placeholder instructions on the Design Your Ticket Layout training page.
