Using the MarchingOrder Ticket Scan App

Guest tickets and GradPasses can be scanned using the MarchingOrder Ticket Scan App for iOS.  This app is highly useful when guest tickets are required to maintain venue capacity and to check-in graduates.  The app is free and available for Apple and Android devices.

The Ticket Scan app requires a stable, reliable, internet connection and scans graduates into your MarchingOrder Assistant website, storing the data with the rest of your ceremony data. You can use multiple Apple or Android mobile devices to scan graduates, making it easy to set up and execute.

Scanning Tickets Using the App

The MarchingOrder Ticket Scan app is free for Apple iOS (iPhones, iPads) or Google Play (Android Devices). When prompted, follow the instructions to allow the app to use the device’s camera.

Find Your Event Codes

Each ceremony has a unique event code that must be entered into the app before scanning can begin. This code can be found on your MarchingOrder Assistant website under Ceremonies > Ticketing > Ticketing Properties.

GradPass event codes can be found at Ceremonies > GradPass > GradPass Properties.

Note: A device may only be signed in using one event code at a time. In other words, if you are using Guest Ticketing and GradPass, plan to have devices assigned for each category.

To get started:
  1. Open the Ticket Scan app on your device.
  2. Enter the Event Code.
  3. Enter a user name or device location. (This information will be included in your Scanned Tickets report.)            
  4. Begin scanning by holding the scan box over the ticket QR code. 
  5. If a ticket won't scan (most likely due to a screen protector on the mobile device), ticket numbers can be entered manually using the keyboard tool. 
  6. Returning guests can be scanned out and scanned back in when they return.                 
 

Scanning Tickets from the Computer

To scan Guest Tickets or GradPasses using a computer, please follow these steps.
  1. Connect a QR Scanner to your scanning computer. (Important: Be sure to calibrate your device before doors open using our Scanner Programming Guide. Follow the reset instructions on page 4 to prepare for ticket scanning.)
  2. Log in to your MarchingOrder Assistant site at https://admin.marchingorder.com/#/
  3. Select the Scanned Tickets module from the menu on the left side of the MarchingOrder Assistant Dashboard.
  4. Click Scan Now next to the appropriate ceremony title to begin scanning Guest Tickets. When applicable, GradPass scanning options will be listed in a separate queue further down the page.
  5. After you click Scan Now, a new window will open. Begin scanning. The green message below will follow a successful scan.
  6. If a ticket has already been scanned for this ceremony, you’ll have the option to Scan Out. Make sure your event staff are prepared to handle any ticket duplications.
